When it comes to the classics you can't do better than 1923
version of Victor Hugo's "The Hunchback of Notre Dame"..
The stories behind the story are often just as compelling such as the costume and make-up that Lon Chaney created to help capture the pain and agony on the face and body of the character "Quasimodo"  ..
Bringing this masterpiece from the screen and on to our Monster Shelf was the work of combined talents..
Quasimodo was of course sculpted by the great Jeff Yagher.
Castings by Mark Brokaw and produced by John Tucky of
X-O Facto..
Dishing out the pain we have Master Pierrat, sculpted by Saul Alvarez and produced by Brothers In Resin...
Now the original Hunchback kit does come with a base. It included the round turntable and also a square stone bottom.
The kit also included the eyelets, metal rings and plastic chain.
The original base is of course perfect for Lon, but has no room for Master Pierrat. So to include him into the build-up, some modifications were necessary. I decided to create something similar to the film prop.  Using pieces from several of my other origianl kits, I created what you see here. It turned out just as planned and I'm quite pleased. The turntable does of course rotate to display all the suffering indured by poor ole Quasimodo..  I replaced the plastic chain with metal chain from a cuckoo clock...  Cuckoo Clock chain works perfect for model dioramas and comes in different size for use with multiple scale figures.  I used the cover of the DVD to assist in the placement of the chain.
I also added different shackles to Lon so that I could attach the chain in the manner desired.
This was a great project and I can't recommend these kits enough.  I'm not sure if Master Pierrat is still available, for info contact "Brothers In Resin"...
Hunchback is the Yagher Classic #10, contact John Tucky at X-O Facto for information on him.
And this project would not have been done at all if not for my very good friend Phil Clark up in Canada...
Thanks Pal...........
